"Wave Bag" 3D-printed women's purse
From digital design to reality with a 3D printer
Overview
The project explores the use of FDM printing to create an accessory – a women's purse that serves as an accent to an outfit and emphasizes individuality. Its size allows it to hold a phone, keys, passport, or small cosmetic bag. The main idea is to combine aesthetics with the technical capabilities of additive manufacturing.
Design Process
Transparent SBS plastic (Watson) was chosen for its elasticity, light transmission, and visual appeal. The design is inspired by nature: the organic texture of waves is emphasized by a soft blue hue. The shape is kept simple for visual balance. The bag consists of two elements: the body and a removable handle, which is printed separately and attached with metal fittings – this simplifies printing and allows the product to be modified. Chemical post-processing with D-limonene was carried out for smoothness.
